I adopted a 3 year old shiba inu mix
I adopted a 3 year old shiba inu mix. I took her to a dog park to see what kind of exercise she liked. She was not interested in fetch. She sniffed around the perimeter and then stayed pretty close to me. She likes walks but I cannot walk very far. Does anyone have an idea for some exercise for her? she likes to wrestle but I don't want her to do that because I have small grandchildren. I was thinking of some of the stunts they use at do shows. Would this be ok? I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you,
Jill

Hi,
I currently have 3 full grown Labrador retrievers, aged 5, 3, and 2
Hi, I currently have 3 full grown Labrador retrievers, aged 5, 3, and 2. My fiance decided that we need another dog (we have the room and everything needed for the time it takes to handle 4 dogs) and we are now the proud parents of 4 Labs. The new puppy is almost 8 weeks old, and thus far we have had few problems with the introduction of the new puppy. However, the 2 year old has been the baby of the family for some time now, and he has been showing aggression towards the puppy. He will play nicely for short amounts of time, but suddenly he will nip at the puppy and growl. I don't know if he is doing it to establish pack order or what, but I'm worried that the 2 year old will not adjust to the new puppy. What can I do to help the new baby and the old baby co exsist? The alpha of the pack has accepted the puppy very easily, and I assumed that the other 2 would follow the lead of the alpha.
Thanks for your help!

Worried
My 7 1/2 year old honey bun has lost an inordinate amount of weight in the last 2-3 months. He went from 17-19 lbs. to 14 lbs. He is skin and bones. I upped his food. Still losing. Took him to the vet- all blood work checked out in the normal range, no parasites, no masses felt by the vet. So the suggestion was- take him home, feed him high quality puppy kibble and we'll see him in a month.
So far he still looks thin. My husband weighed him after 2 weeks and said he had gained a pound but he is still eating like he's been starved, isn't pooping out a great amount. The vet mentioned the 'c' word possibly.
Any thoughts?

I've got the same problem!
My husband, thinking he was sweet, and he is, decided to buy me a "pomeranian" from A PET SHOP! He definetly resembles a pom but he is 1 out of three that I have and he looks different from the other two. He has longer legs, not as stumpy, and whispy ears. The worst part? He was THE MOST EXPENSIVE out of all my poms (He was more expensive than the other two, who actually look like Poms, put together!) Well, I don't think there is any way to tell if your pom is FULLBREED or not...I've even got information on his parents who were supposedly "4 and 5 lbs" well he's like 10 lbs---so I find that hard to believe. I was given false information obviously. My advice is not to buy from pet shops you just don't know what your are paying for and chances are they are over priced anyways...

Juggling with Jack and Jill
2 weeks ago today Jack was attacked by some lunatic which left him with a shattered left femur. He is 3 years old and endured surgery to implant a plate and screws and wire to hold his femur together.
We also have Jill who is almost a year old. She and Jack are inseparable. Before Jack was attacked, they would play together, nap together, eat together and even sit together and watch squirrels through our front door.
Due to Jack's injury we have to keep them separate. Since then Jill has been having a hard time dealing with it. She's gone through at least 3 pairs of shoes this week alone!!!
Tomorrow we go to have the staples removed from Jack's left leg. That will be a great day in the recovery process for Jack since he hates to wear the E-Collar and if he doesn't wear the collar he tries to chew on the wound. It must be terribly itchy for him.
If you want to get to know more about Jack and what happened please visit www.help-jack.com.
Have a great Sunday!

Shiba Inu Flea Allergic Dermatitis
Has the vet ruled out sarcoptic mange(also called scabies)? Vets can often miss this diagnosis and diagnosis the condition as allergic dermatitis. Please visit ThePetCenter.com and look up sarcoptic mange and the pinna-pedal reflex (in the same article). I hope this helps you shed some light on the subject and you get another opinion to get your baby relief. This is my 1st time writing I hope this note gets to you.
