We have a 2 year old male neutered Cocker Spaniel who is a very well adjusted dog at home and with other dogs. We are considering getting another cocker spaniel puppy to keep him company. Does anyone have advice about crating the new puppy when the older dog isn't crated anymore? We let the 2 year old have run of the downstairs when we are not there but we won't be letting a puppy have the same freedom. Has anyone had experience if it works keeping one dog in a crate and one dog with freedom?
