Overview
The Serengeti is a relatively new breed of domestic cat bred to mimic the African Serval. In breeding programs, the Serengeti is sometimes outcrossed to Bengals and Oriental Shorthair. Serengetis may be shown in The International Cat Association (TICA) shows in the Preliminary New Breed class, but are not yet eligible for Championship Status.
Character
Their temperament has been described as gentle, outgoing, confident and alert.
Appearance
They comes in several color/pattern variations:
- Tabby (brown spotted tabby)
- Solid (black)
- Silver (silver spotted tabby and black smoke)
The coat is short, fine-textured and dense. The gold or yellow eyes are round and large.
